You are usually better off getting an adult dog who personality is set and you have an idea on prey drive. Not always the case though, there's a guy who's dog killed his two cats after 3+ years of peaceful living together. He was leaving them together alone though which is a bad idea. All the socialization and training isn't going to change your dogs genetics and pit bulls don't really care too much about pecking order, they will fight even if they are bottom of the pack or top, some dogs are just more quick to anger and some are laid back and tolerant, the type that won't fight unless they are badly pushed. It also depends on your cat and other dog. Yorkies are terriers (kind of) too and can have quite a bit of attitude, some cats just don't get along with some dogs. What you can do is supervise like crazy, don't leave the dogs and cat together alone, don't leave toys/treats/food out for something to fight over, reward for good calm behavior, don't allow chasing of the other animals. You had beter also stay away from a dog park, it's an uncontrolled situation, your dog would probably be ok there as a young puppy but a bad time there could easily backfire. Puppy obedience and playdates are much better.
