Breed Standard
When looking at the dog’s profile, theoretically it should be square, i.e. the distance from the shoulder to the thigh is to amount to the distance from the top of the shoulder to the ground. Typically, the distance between the paws at ground level exceeds the height a little.

The hip must be wide. The wider hip the wider coupling and consequently there is a larger area for the hip muscles to tie to.
