This is an inflammation of dog pituitary membrane. The symptoms of this disease are sneezing, purulent discharge, heavy breathing. 2% boric acid solution is used for the treatment, which drops are injected into the nose of sick dog preliminary cleaning the nostrils with a tampon.
Inflammation of external acoustic apparatus can take place if the concha of auricle is contaminated in dog. The otitis involves purulent discharge out of the acoustic meatus and inflammation of skin areas surrounding it. In order to treat this disease it is recommended to clean very carefully the acoustic meatus of the dog and apply zinky ointment with cod liver oil to it. This procedure should be repeated in 2 days.
This is an inflammation of conjunctiva. It caused by ingression of dust, sand, chemical substances, during concussions and injures of eyes. Conjunctivitis may be one-way (trauma of one eye) and double (trauma of both eyes). The main symptoms are redness of conjunctiva, blepharonci, dacryops. Eye cornea is damaged and purulent phase of conjunctivitis may appear during complications. For treatment of this disease it is recommended to wash the eyes of the dog with 2% boric acid solution daily and instill 0.25 % vitriol salt solution (2-3 drops in each eye). One should macerate purulent crusts appearing on the dog’s eyes with 3% sulfacetamide solution and then remove them. After some time tetracycline or hydrocortisone ointment is laid under the eyelids. 3% iodoform or boric ointment is used for treatment of purulent conjunctivitis.
This is an inflammation of tunica mucosa of mouth. The symptoms are redness of mucous coat of the mouth, puffiness, appearance of ulcers, bleeding gums.
