...to start reading this article from the beginning please click on here...Just to set the record straight, Louis never said anything about the purity of blue dogs. He most definitly has heard of true blue APBT's back in the day. Both Colorado Dan and Imp II were of the blue coloring and both dogs were matched against Searcy Jeff who was of the red coloring. It was a historical event, (blues vs reds) for someone to say that Louis would not recall such an event is insulting. It is however true that Louis would say that in all his or his fathers years, neither one of them has ever had a blue dog produced from thier breedings, nor have they ever produced a red on red dog either. Colby dogs do however come in Red, they just do not produce red noses, but they most certainly do come in the color red. Also noted, after the Searcy Jeff vs Dan & Imp II, the blue dogs basically fell out of favor in the spot light. It had been proven that the red strain were more game than the blue strain and the blue dogs wee then thought to be inferior. It was rumored that Corvino had aquired both Dan and Imp and implimented them into his breeding program.
