It is undesirable to put a lot of food into puppyish bowl, because hypernutrition is harmful for the dog. It is better if it should stay slightly hungry. However, regular denutrition is injurious to puppy too, therefore it is very important to prescribe optimal amount of one feed, which should be increased according to growth of puppy, but at that a number of daily feedings should be reduced. It is very important to ascertain optimal dose that depends on individual characteristics of each puppy. To establish the norm is a very easy thing. If puppy is gay, agile; its body grows without abnormalities, the hair shines, and it is neither fat nor lean; it means that everything is ok and it has eaten just as much as it has been necessary to it. Second feed (at noon time): curd or glassful of kefir or lapped milk with flocks. Third feed (at 4 p.m.) millet mush, in which one may add crushed raisins or rub an apple, an egg and ½ glassful of milk or a slice of cheese. Forth feed (at 8 p.m.): meat cut into pieces and mixed with greens, rubbed raw potatoes and clove garlic. A puppy should always have access to bowl with clean boiled water.
