Exercise 6. Bringing an object is performed by jumping over a barrier. The dog jumps directly from the ground without bearing on something. (barrier height is 1m, its width is 1.5 m; weight of the object to be brought is 0.65 kg). In order to perform this exercise the guide should get up before the barrier, some distance from it, holding the object to be brought in his hand. As the guide throws prepared object over the barrier the dog sits near his left leg. The dog should execute the command: “Give!” quickly not showing aggression when the guide tries to take the brought object away from it. Then, the commands: “Barrier!” “Aport!” are given, on hearing them the dog must overjump the barrier (the jump is unsupported). On raising the object from the ground, pit bull terrier must jump over the barrier again in order to come back to the guide. At that none of commands are to be given and the dog sits down in front of the guide. On commanding: “Give!” the guide takes away the brought object from the dog. After that the guide gives the command: “Heel!” and the dog must take a position beside his left leg. The most number of points earned for performance of this exercise is 15. Exercise 7. Diversionary action and time-lag during dog’s lying down. Before performing this exercise, the guide should give the dog the command: “Lie!”, which it must execute quickly and correctly. When doing the exercise, the dog must be unattached and walk at a footpace beside the guide’s left leg. Then the guide goes straight with measured steps, moving away from the dog in the distance of 30 m but being visible, and then he makes a pause. At that he can not face the dog. The guide stands with his back on the dog till the expert directs him to take it. The most number of points given for this exercise is 15. Testing of guard abilities (division C) While testing on division C the dog should be on the leash. For carrying out of tests it is necessary to inform the guide on which assistant’s hand the protection tube will be drawn (the dog can bite assistant’s right or left hand only). If pit bull terrier, being a competitor, bites by the other assistant’s part but the protection tube, it loses the right to compete on. Exercise 1. Search for assistant There are 6 shelters within the test area (training ground). These are to be disposed in the distance of at least 50 m from each other. The guide must inform the expert that the group sets about the testing. After that the guide with the dog starts moving from a given point to the target, changing the shelters. On hearing the command: Seek dead!” the dog should fall on searching for the assistant dwelling in the last or next-to-last shelter. In the course of searching the dog moves from left to right alternately, at that spinning near every of the shelters. The guide should all the time stay in the midline between the shelters; however he is allowed to make signals to the dog, using special gestures.
