After some days sick dog begins to averse to eat, signs of photophobia are observed in it, its nose becomes covered with dry barks, it vomits sometimes. One more indication of hardpad infection is the conjunctivitis developing on the second day after temperature rise. Serosal and then pyogenic discharge chronically runs from dog nostrils, they stick together and that leads to respiratory affection. During this period catarrhal enteropathy develops in the dog. Its bowel movement changes acquiring bad smell, one can see streaks of blood or blood clots of yellow or oatmeal and then brown color, slime, undigested pieces of food in the loose stool. On account of endless diarrheas during hardpad, water depletion is likely to develop in the dog and also its rectum may come out. Duration of the disease depends on the type. If infected with peracute canine distemper the dog dies during one day and none of clinical hints appears; superacute one lasts for 2-3 days resulting in exanimation and fatality. Both these manifestations are too rare, the most often ones are acute and long-lasting courses of the disease. In the first case the disesase lasts from 2 weeks to a month, in the latter one it may last for 6 months. During long-lasting canine distemper the periods of recrudescence rotate disease-free survivals; the hair looks disheveled, tails of the eyes and the nose are covered with scabs. This course of disease involves various complications that on frequent occasions cause the death of the dog. Without treatment and if there is acute canine distemper, dog nervous system is afflicted with the solution approaching.
